Volkswagen Golf R-Series US Debut Soon

Coming to America: Volkswagen GTI R-Series.
As good as the Volkswagen GTI is, an infusion of extra power couldn't possibly hurt. VW's GTI R32 was a highly refined car, but buyers quickly realized that the 3.2L VR6's 250 horsepower was barely enough to compensate for the engine's added weight over the standard GTI's 2.0L turbo four and the R32's heavy all-wheel drive system. What's more, the R32 was short-lived; it's no longer available for the 2009 model year. Enter the GTI R-Series.

According to Car and Driver, VW will bring the R-Series to the United States, possibly to be named R20, featuring the powerplant from the Audi S3. Expect around 270 horsepower from a high-pressure 2.0L turbo engine - a 70-horsepower improvement over the standard GTI.

New Toyota iQ May Guise As Scion At LA Show

Toyota iQ coming to LA Auto Show as a Scion.
Whenever we see the Scion xD on the road it reminds us of the Toyota iQ - and that’s probably because a car the size of an iQ would fit perfectly into Scion’s lineup. Guess what? That’s exactly what may happen at the 2008 LA Auto Show.

According to Motor Trend’s sources, Toyota will bring the new iQ minicar to LA next month but instead of displaying it at the Toyota stand, the iQ will get a Scion badge and will join the xD, tC and xB. Why make such a move when all of us like calling it the Toyota iQ?

2010 Mazda3 unveiled ahead of LA Auto Show.
Mazda has confirmed the time and place for the unveiling of its all-new 2010 Mazda3: November 19th at the LA Auto Show. In anticipation of the car's public debut, the Japanese automaker released these three images of the remodeled 3 sedan that reveal the car's new design.

While the new 3 retains a similar shape as the current model with a high beltline and rear decklid, the new car sports a much more expressive face with a "smile" grille positioned low up front that's flanked by vertical air intake/fog light combos.

Next Generation 09 Honda City Reviewed

2009 Model Honda City India: Early Review.
The earlier Honda City was not to everyone’s liking - some called it space-age, but any thought it was just odd. With the new Honda City, you would not have any such complaints. This truly is a space-age design from the front, and evokes images of the Honda FCX Clarity fuel cell car as well as the new Accord or Acura, while from the side, it is quite like a Honda Civic

Honda wanted the new car to be sporty and yet frugal—since that is a big requirement for the segment’s buyers. This car has an iVTEC engine across variants from the word go.

09 Honda Fit/Jazz Review.
I spent a few hours with the 2009 Fit and Fit Sport in both manual and automatic forms, and people who purchased the earlier Fit will be pleased to hear that the new one doesn't blow the old one away, but new buyers will enjoy incremental improvements in many areas, including roominess, visibility and engine power, as well as a gas-mileage bump..

The EPA-estimated fuel economy is 28/35 mpg for the base model with a five-speed automatic transmission, and 27/33 mpg for versions with the five-speed manual transmission as well as for the automatic Fit Sport.
