By moving the windshield forward by 4.7 inches, the stylists have created a cabin that feels as roomy as that of a Civic. Clever triangular windows have been sculptured into the side front doors to improve visibility, as the A-pillars of the previous design were thought by many owners to be obstructive.

The new five-door Fit is 2.2 inches longer than its predecessor, including a 2.0-inch increase in wheelbase. The width expands by less than an inch, and the track has been widened.

<<previous---- [01] ----next>>

The new 2008 - 2009 2nd Generation Honda Fit made its debut at 2007 Tokyo Motor Show and was launched in Japanese Market on 26-Oct-2007 and within few days of launch it won the annual Car of the Year Japan award for 2007–2008.

The 1st Generation Honda Fit outsold the Toyota Corolla in Japan in 2006 to take the coveted "Best-Selling Car" title.

While we in the U.S. aren't able to purchase the new Fit yet, it's on sale in Japan and flying off the lot. Expected to sell around 12,000 units per month initially, Honda sold more than 20,000 in the car's first two weeks of availability. The new Fit's larger size and smoother looks should help it find a few more buyers in the U.S. as well when it goes on sale sometime next year.
